Hill Eager to Compete at Hockett/McMillin Memorial This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (Sept. 14, 2021) – Alex Hill is looking forward to returning to competition during the three-day Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial hosted by Lucas Oil Speedway beginning Thursday.

“I’m really excited to get back in the car, especially at Lucas Oil Speedway,” Hill said of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event in Wheatland, Mo. “It’s one of my favorite tracks.”

Hill will be looking to improve on her performance at last year’s event when she fell just a few positions short of making the Saturday night A Main. After being hampered by a slow start on the opening night, the Hill’s Racing Team driver was able to move forward in each of her final four races of the event.

“We did pretty well there last year once we got going,” she said. “Things had changed a little since we had last raced there and it took us a little while to get comfortable with the car and track. That got us a little behind at the beginning, but we got better pretty much each time we raced.”

Hill has shown speed in most of her recent competitions and she’s hoping to carry that into the marquee sprint car event, which drew nearly 80 competitors last year.

“We’ve shown improvement this year and I’m hoping that will continue this weekend,” she said.
