North Alabama Speedway King of Crate Weekend Postponed to September 11th and 12th

Adairsville, GA – North Alabama Speedway and Crate Racin’ USA Officials have mutually agreed to postpone this weekend’s “King of Crate” event due to unfavorable forecasts resulting from the impending storms/hurricane(s). Track and Series officials consulted with and reviewed the local and national forecasts and the chances of getting both nights of the event completed were unfavorable and the decision was made to keep race teams from making unnecessary travel. Heavy rains have already fell this week, and the forecast calls for much more ahead of the weekend forcing officials to make the call to postpone.

The event has been tentatively reset for Friday September 11th and Saturday September 12th, following the same format and payouts as originally on the agenda. “We had hoped that the forecasted track and impact from the hurricane would lean more favorable for this weekend, but with the impact of heavy rains already this week only to be followed by more, we had to make this tough decision,” stated Crate Racin’ USA Series Director Adam Stewart. “Brian Mitchell (promoter of North Alabama Speedway) reached out and wanted to make sure we made a decision that made the least impact on the race teams that would be traveling and to try and give them both nights of the event. Making the decision is not an easy one, but with the impact this storm could have on some of the teams that might be traveling and the probability of not getting the event complete we felt it best to go ahead and do so. We hope to see everyone on the 11th and 12th, and hope they make the trip to Cochran Speedway next weekend for the $20,000 to win World Championship event.”

The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series will now look to Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA for the Chevrolet Performance World Championship slated for September 4th through 6th. The event will kick off with Open Practice on Friday September 4th, followed by Qualifying and Heat Race Action on Saturday September 5th, and then will culminate with B-Main and the $20,000 to win Main Event on Sunday September 6th.
