CRATE RACIN’ USA LATE MODELS MAKE FIRST EVER STOP AT NEEDMORE SPEEDWAY

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series will make their first ever stop at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, GA this Saturday night for a $4,000-to-win $400-to-start race, Round 11 of the 2020 National Tour. Drivers from six different states are expected for this race.

Wil Herrington of Hawkinsville, GA leads the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series point standings with three wins on the season. Herrington holds a 28-point lead over the 2019 Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year and series National Championship runner-up Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL, who has one win this season.

Corey Dunn of Milledgeville, GA is third in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model National points and he also leads the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year points. Dunn has one win this season. T.J. Britton of Centre, AL is fourth in the standings, and Jody Knowles of Tyrone, GA is fifth.

Cody Overton of Evans, GA is sixth in the National Touring point standings and is second in the Rookie points. Trynt Lloyd of Jacksonville, FL is seventh in the standings, third in Rookie points, and he also leads the VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series point standings. The VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series is a series within a series for drivers 18 years of age and younger.

Troy Dixon of Dallas, GA is eighth in the National standings and fourth in the Rookie points. Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS is ninth, while Parker Martin of Milledgeville, GA rounds out the top ten in the National standings, is fifth in the Rookie points, and he is a VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series driver.

Other Georgia drivers expected at Needmore Speedway this Saturday night include Ty Ellis of Covington, GA, Ahnna Parkhurst of Evans, GA, Jake Rainey of Hiram, GA, Jordy Nipper of Macon, GA, Garrett Smith of Eatonton, GA, and Jimmy Thomas from just across the Chattahoochee River in Phenix City, AL. From the Volunteer State, Christian Hanger of Winchester, TN is expected.

The Sunshine State should also be well represented. Joining Lloyd will be Mark Whitener of Middleburg, FL, Clay Harris of Jupiter, FL, Jason Fitzgerald of Middleburg, FL Trey Mills of St. Augustine, FL, and Nevin Gainey of Fort White, FL are expected.

The on-track action at Needmore Speedway begins on Friday night with an Open Practice Session. The pit gate opens at 4 p.m. with practice from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 2 p.m. with Crate Racin’ USA Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Hot Laps at 7 p.m. and racing to follow.
