Charlotte to Feature Two Crate Racin’ USA Divisions

EASTABOGA, Ala. — The Dirt Track at Charlotte, located in Concord, N.C., will host a 10-division show Oct. 27-29, 2022, as the seventh edition of the World Short Track Championships takes place at the 4/10-mile facility that’s located across the street from 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway.

A mega-event that encompasses three days of activities and showcases weekly racing stars from across the nation, the giant weekend offers more than $120,000 in purse money, and takes place the weekend before the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series-sanctioned World Finals at the semi-banked oval.

Divisions that will headline the event include DIRTcar Racing’s FOX Factory PRO Late Models, which will be boosted by participation from Crate Racin’ USA competitors. It is a non-points event for CRUSA. Crate Racin’ USA Street Stocks will also join the field for the ARP Street Stock activities, giving the Adam Stewart-managed CRUSA organization a high-profile collaboration with the World Racing Group-sanctioned weekend for the third year in a row.

“This has become a very important event for our organization to work closely with the folks at DIRTcar Racing to bring forth such a great featuring weekly racing competitors from across them country,” Stewart said. “This is our third straight year to be part of the giant weekend, and Crate Racin’ USA is certainly proud to be involved with the event. A high-profile facility such as the Dirt Track at Charlotte really helps showcase the strength of the sport at the weekly level, and that fits well with our organization’s long-time goals, which is to strengthen weekly racing across our home region.”

Other divisions on the program include Chevrolet Performance 602 Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment UMP Modifieds, Hoosier Racing Tire Pro Modifieds, COMP Cams Monster Mini-Stocks, DIRTVision Hornets, VP Racing Fuels Sportsman Modifieds, SRI Performance Thunder Bombers and MSD Pro Stocks.

Action kicks into gear on Thursday, Oct. 27, with registration and pass sales opening at 9 a.m., and pit gates/hauler load-in at 11 a.m. Drivers meeting is slated at 4 p.m, and hot laps start at 5 p.m.

Pit gates open Friday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m., with a drivers meeting set to begin at 2:30 p.m. The spectator gates swing wide at 3:30 p.m., and opening ceremonies will be held at 4 p.m. Heats and last-chances race started at 4:15 p.m.

Activities slated Saturday, Oct. 29, will start at 11 a.m. when the pit gates open. Drivers meeting will begin at 2 p.m., and spectator gates open at 3:30 p.m. Opening ceremonies will start at 4 p.m., and last-chance events hit the 4/10-mile oval at 4:15 p.m.

Feature events scheduled on the final night of the three-day weekend include NE Pro Stocks (25 laps), NE Sportsman (30 laps), PRO 604/CRUSA Late Models (30 laps), DIRTcar UMP Modifieds (30 laps), ARP/CRUSA Street Stocks (20 laps), 602 Late Models (25 laps), Crate Modified (25 laps), Thunder Bombers (20 laps), Mini-Stocks (25 laps), FWD/Sport Compact (15 laps). ALL divisions have a time limit on their respective main events.
