Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series
King of Crate Night One is Here
The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series returns to action tonight for the first time since the checkered flag flew on July 13th at Magnolia Motor Speedway. Tonight, marks prelim-night for the King of Crate event at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. This will be the eleventh time in history that the series has visited North Alabama, with previous winners including Matt Henderson, Christian Hanger, Jimmy Thomas, Jeremy Shaw, Jake Knowles, Evan Ellis, Cory Hedgecock, Ronnie Johnson, and most recently, Mark Whitener. This will also be the eighth time that the Adam Stewart-owned touring series has hosted the King of Crate event, which first took place in 2017. On that night, Cory Hedgecock from Loudon, TN, captured the checkered flag ahead of Jake Knowles and Ronnie Johnson.
Tonight's action will feature hot laps, Stakt by CV Racing Products Time Trials, and Chevrolet Performance Heat Races. Plus local divisions Vintage Cars, CRUSA Late Model Sportsman, CRUSA Modified Sportsman, Crown Vics, Mini-stocks, and Economy with the drivers meeting being held at 6:30pm.
The championship hunt continues with 2021 series champion Jimmy Thomas leading the way. Last year’s Cruise with the Champion Rookie of the Year, Mario Gresham, and multi-time event winner Matt Henderson are still within striking distance. With 11 events remaining, all drivers in the top six of the points standings head into North Alabama with the championship still within reach.
