2022 Racing Preparation Under Way

While the weather outside might be frightful, there is still lots of preparation in the works for the 2022 race season. Sweetwater Speedway will again be hosting the IMCA Modifieds, Northern Sport Mods, and Stock Cars along with the local Cruiser class and kids Go-Karts for monthly racing.

National Series will include the ASCS Frontier Region making a stop in August and the High Plains Late Model Series coming back in September. There look to be some changes to the format for the Wild West Modified Tour, but it has been proven to bring the best of the best drivers from the west to compete at the speedway.

The Speedway will again host the Smash and Bash Derby, but it will be held in July instead of September like in 2021. That event was a sell out and the crowd loved seeing a different type of motorsports event. Plans are also in the works for a different event for July 4th. The event will allow drivers from all over to "run what they brung" and compete in a 100 lap event with scheduled pit stop competitions that will prove to be a crowd pleaser. Look for more rules information coming soon.
