Redwood Acres Raceway Announces 2021 Schedule

After much anticipation, the schedule for the 2021 season at Redwood Acres Raceway is out. There are 11 races in total with the season beginning on the first weekend in May and ending on the last weekend of September.

Roadrunners, mini stocks, bombers, Legends and late models will once again line the regular slate of action. 2020 champions in each division were Bryan Brandt in the roadrunners, Gary Klinetobe in the mini stocks, Sam Brown in the bombers, James Nichols in the Legends and Dustin Walters in the late models.

All five local divisions will be in action for the season opening event on Saturday May 1. Late models will have the night off on Saturday May 15 with the other four classes headlining the evening’s events. Northern California’s premiere touring series the North State Modified Series will visit the Acres for the first of two times on Saturday June 5. Another race is scheduled for June 19 with all local classes in action with the exception of the late models.

Saturday July 10 will feature the Firecracker 100 for the late models. The Upstate Bomber Series will be in action for the mid-season event as well. Fan Appreciation Night is on July 31 with Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners racing. August’s two events are Saturday August 14 and Saturday August 28.

The season will conclude with two major events. Saturday September 11 will feature the first ever Legends Shootout and should field a large field of competitive cars and drivers for the division. It will also be the final points race for the roadrunner and mini stock divisions. The annual Fall Spectacular should be a thriller for several reasons. The late model event will be an open race, akin to races in the 70s and 80s which were “run what you brung” events. The Fall Spectacular will also feature the North State Modifieds and the richest race in the history of the series, the Dale Baldwin Challenge.

Redwood Acres Raceway officials are thrilled to have fans return to the 3/8-mile paved oval for the season. It will be the first-time spectators will be able to see first-hand the new scoreboard installed outside of turn three. Track officials have also made improvements in the pits with a new spotter’s stand erected on the back straightaway.

Tickets for the season opening event on May 1 are $10 and will be available to be purchased on RacinTheAcres.com beginning at 12:00 PM Friday April 23. There will be a maximum purchase of four tickets per person. Redwood Acres Raceway is also offering season passes. Only 200 will be available for $150 each and will also go on sale on April 23. Current COVID-19 restrictions will allow for a maximum for 1,300 spectators. To avoid lines and better accommodate fans, vendors will be available in the grandstands to serve food and beer.

Redwood Acres Raceway will be hosting a test and tune for race teams Saturday April 17. Pits and gates will open at 11:00 AM. Practice will start at 1:00 PM and will end at 6:00 PM. Fees will be $20 for each car and $20 for each driver and crew member. For more information visit www.RacinTheAcres.com or visit RAR on Facebook or Twitter @RacinTheAcres.
