Zeitner continues dominance at Park Jefferson on Saturday

Justin Zeitner continued his dominance at Park Jefferson Speedway this past Saturday, June 11, by winning the H&H Mobile home feature from the 18th starting position. This win marks his 4th in series history at the track, taking the checkered flag in all 4 visits.

The night did not go according to plan for the 62 machine, losing a driver shaft in the heat races. This forced Zeitner to come from the 18th position on the starting grid. By lap 3 he was in the top 10, as he charged through the field. A caution and restart on lap 7 allowed him to move from 7th into 2nd, and he took the lead on lap 9 which he did not relinquish the rest of the way en route to his record-extending 15th series victory and 4th on the season.

Early on, the leader for the first two laps was pole sitter Nate Beyenhof. Nate captured the Bargain Barn Tire Center pole position after his heat race performance and redraw, and looked good out front. Unfortunately for the Rock Rapids, IA driver, he spun off turn 4 coming to complete lap 3, forcing him to the tail of the field on the subsequent restart and handing the lead over to point leader Trevor Anderson.

Anderson would lead the field back to the green ahead of Shane DeMey and Gary Brown Jr, who all battled heavily for the lead over the next few laps. Officially, Beyenhof lead two laps of the feature, Brown lead 1 lap, and Anderson would lead 7 total laps in the front half of the event. Zeitner would lead the final 17 laps and go on to capture the win along with the Kibble Equipment Hard Charger award for the 3rd time in his career.

Anderson would go on to finish 2nd in the event, matching his best career finish with the series. His other runner-up finish came back on June 4th of this year at the Dakota State Fair Speedway. Shane DeMey rounded out the podium, which matched his April 23rd effort at Park Jefferson for his best finish. Blair Nothdurft was 4th after starting seventh, and Nate Beyenhof battled his way back to 5th after the early race spin.

Heat Racing action saw Shane DeMey pick up his first career heat race win. The rookie driver is in his 6th ever start behind the wheel of a late model and leads rookie of the year points. Trevor Anderson won his 2nd career heat with the series, and Gary Brown Jr moved into 5th all time in heat wins with his 14th of his career.

The series is next in action this coming Saturday, June 18, at the Miller Central Speedway in Miller, SD.
