Kameron Key Captures POWRi Central States Midget Debut Feature Win

Belleville, IL. (05/9/2021) Kicking off the POWRi Central States Midget Series in style, KC Raceway would host the inaugural event for the regional open-wheel racers. With a solid field of stout competitors making the trek to the Independence, Missouri bullring, Kameron Key would grab the first-ever feature victory.

Driving the Chad Shields Racing #44s, Key would show speed all evening by winning a heat race. Driving from a third starting position, Cameron would shoot to the front in the opening laps of the feature never to relinquish the top spot.

With Key handily out front, the hard-charging #321 Chad Winfrey and other heat race winner #9 Morgan Gilbert-Frewaldt would battle nearly all race to decide the podium outcome. As the final checkers waived Key would grab the win with Winfrey second and Gilbert-Frewaldt third. Trevor Casey and Casey Hicks would round out the POWRi Central States Midget Series debuting top five finishers at KC Raceway.
