Antioch, CA…Castro Valley’s Jake Andreotti kicked-off the brand new BCRA Midget Triple Crown Series with a $2,000 victory this past Saturday at Antioch Speedway.
Multi-time Nor-Cal Midget champ Blake Bower charged into the lead at the waving of the green flag in the 30-lap BCRA Midget feature. Stockton ace Caden Sarale and Jake Andreotti then flexed their muscles, as the midgets put on a show for the crowd on hand.
Sarale took over the top-spot on lap 10, before battling it out with Andreotti. Right around the halfway point however, Andreotti scooted to the lead that he would never relinquish. Sarale came home second with Bower, Jake Morgan and Bryant Bell rounding out the top-five. The remainder of the top-10 was filled out by Michael Snider, Sage Bordenave, Logan Mitchell, Danika Jo Parker and Kevin Box.
The BCRA Midgets will be back in action at Antioch Speedway on August 26th.
After finishing a close second during the BCRA Lightning Sprint season opener in March, Livermore’s Greg Dennett came back this past Saturday to record a clean sweep of the night at Antioch Speedway.
“It’s an incredible feeling to have such a great night in Antioch,” commented Dennett. “We’ve had a lot of speed these first couple races and to put together a clean sweep on Saturday was just awesome. I want to thank everybody that helps with this car and supports our efforts. Big thank you to all the fans and teams for coming out to the show as well.”
Veteran racer Scott Kinney of Citrus Heights lined up on the pole of the 20-lap Lightning Sprint feature. Kinney would lead the initial two circuits, before Dennett scooped up the lead on lap three. Round one winner at Placerville Speedway, Dakota Albright from Waterford, eventually worked his way forward to snag the runner up position on lap number five.
Dennett ran a flawless race up front however, and never gave anybody else a shot to get close. He ultimately drove away and crossed under the checkered flag for the victory. Albright came home in second, with Harlee Aguilera in third, Josef Ferolito fourth and Cody Meyer rounding out the top-five.
The Bay Cities Racing Association Lightning Sprints are right back at it this Saturday in Placerville, as they take part in the 20th annual “Tribute to Al Hinds.”
