Stormy fifth in Duel in the Desert prelim at Las Vegas Dirt Track
On Thursday evening, Stormy Scott hopped behind the wheel of his Rancho Milagro Racing No. 2s Late Model for the Duel in the Desert opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track (Las Vegas, Nev.).
Drawing 42 XR Super Series entries, Scott edged his way into the opening night feature with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. With $20,000 on the line, Stormy advanced forward eight positions in the 40-lapper to register a sixth-place finish.
For another $20,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Stormy picked up a convincing victory in his heat race after going from third-to-first on the opening lap. Losing one spot in the 40-lap feature, Scott posted a fifth-place finish, which came behind Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Overton, Shane Clanton, and Tim McCreadie.
On Saturday, Scott followed up a third-place showing in his heat race with an 11th-place outing in the 50-lap, $40,000-to-win Duel in the Desert finale.
