Trio of Top-10 finishes in Duel in the Desert at Las Vegas Dirt Track
Cade Dillard returned on his western stint with a visit to Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track (Las Vegas, Nev.) on Thursday afternoon for the opening round of the Duel in the Desert.
In a field of 42 XR Super Series entries, Dillard followed up a sixth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 in the feature, Cade passed eight cars in the 40-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
For another $20,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Cade clocked in third-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat race. Losing one spot in the 40-lap feature, Dillard recorded a sixth-place finish.
On Saturday night, Dillard’s runner-up finish in his heat race placed him on the fifth row for the $40,000-to-win Duel in the Desert finale. After running in fourth for the majority of the race, Cade faded late in the 40-lapper to finish 10th.
