Four Champions Tour Classes Headline at PPL Southern Nationals
Charlestown, IN (August 30th, 2022) – The Robertson County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Tennessee has a storied history of pulling competition that continues today as the home of the annual PPL Southern Nationals. The event continues this weekend on Saturday September 3rd with four Champions Tour classes from the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League.
Scheduled to appear in Springfield are the ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractors, ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks, Optima Batteries Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks and Pro Stock Tractors.
Beyond entertaining the standing room only crowd of pulling fans that fill the facility each year, the event serves to benefit two charities in memory of a pair of local pulling legends, Jay Fuqua and Don Head. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Martha’s Song are the beneficiaries of proceeds from the event in their unique missions to treat and cure cancer. The event also provides a pair of scholarships to local students who have a parent, guardian or sibling who is battling or passed away from cancer and continuing their education in a college/university or technical school.
Gates open at the fairgrounds at 4pm CDT and pulling action is scheduled to begin at 6pm. Tickets are $20 each with free admission for children 5 and under.
