Pulling's Best Kept Secret Revealed This Weekend

Sellersburg, IN (June 11th, 2024) – The first in a new series of feature-driven content about the places and people that are a part of the success of the Pro Pulling League; We hope you enjoy!

Small towns across America have a certain charm that separates them from their big city cousins. The idyllic rural scenery, laid-back atmosphere, and a unique sense of community where conversations with strangers might as easily begin with "Who's your mom and dad?" as it might "How are you today?" foster a return to simpler times.

That sense of community is especially live and well in a small, signal caution-light crossroads due north of Appleton, Wisconsin - the tiny unincorporated hamlet of Mackville. It's the ideal escape from the big town bustle for those who live in Outagamie County.

That's a common story for most small towns; Mackville, however, has quietly taken Father's Day weekend each year as a time to celebrate community and the work of a church through the Mackville Nationals. The Mackville Nationals through the guidance of Rodger Baum and his team has become one of the best-kept secrets in pulling - that the rest of the pulling world needs to hear about!

The Mackville Nationals has four sessions of pulling starting and ending with local and state classes that book-end two sessions of action from the Pro Pulling League Champions Tour, Badger State Tractor Pullers, and Tri-County Pullers. Contested on the track adjacent to the St. Edwards Parish, the one-caution light community swells to a town of 5000+ people at peak times during the weekend. In a state that has multiple national events like the Hillsboro Charity Pull, Mackville carves out a niche by providing a place for nearly everything with a hitch a place to pull - and something for every member of the family.

While there's plenty of adult-oriented activity beyond the pulling action. with music playing after the Friday and Saturday night sessions, the youngest pulling fans aren't forgotten either. Kids come primed and ready for the annual "Dash for Cash," where kids are sorted into three separate age groups and race each other to grab as many coins as possible off tarps covering the track. Needless to say, it's a swift task with their parents and fans in the stands cheering them on to fill their pockets. A pedal pull on Father's Day is also a time to get the youngsters "hooked" on the sport.

The event kicks off on Thursday, June 13th with local pulling classes followed by Pro Pulling League (Champions Tour ARP Lightweight Super Stocks, Pro Modified Four Wheel Drive Trucks presented by Summit Racing Equipment, and Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks presented by Optima Batteries), Badger State Tractor Pullers, and Tri-County Pullers action on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th. The event wraps up on Sunday the 16th with antique and farm stock pullers. More information is available at www.MackvilleNationals.com.

So, the secret's out...go check out the Mackville Nationals for a full weekend of pulling and family entertainment!
