Pulling their Weight: Hillsboro Charity Pull Lifts Up Community through Elite Pulling Competition
Sellersburg, IN (August 8th, 2024) – Hillsboro, A sleepy town of 1400 in the rolling hills of West Central Wisconsin comes to life again this weekend with the annual Hillsboro Charity Pull, with three sessions of action at Hillsboro Fireman's Memorial Park starting Friday evening at 7pm CT.
A six-time pull of the year with the Pro Pulling League, the quality of the event is the roadmap to putting on a successful pull. It's about great competition; it's about a great fan and puller experience; and it's about making continual improvements each year to the show. Most of all, it's a means to serve those residents in greatest need in Hillsboro and the surrounding communities. It's a perpetual, ever-growing circle, where the bar is raised for pullers, fans, sponsors and other vested parties to provide more aid and comfort to the community than each previous year.
At the heart of it is event lead Don Slama. Don, along with daughter Sally, son James, and an exceptional support staff, demonstrate a collective interest to provide the best pulling experience possible, In recent years it's become the home for the "Battle of the Buckle" for pullers, where the overall winner in each class receives a belt buckle for their efforts. The fan experience has seen numerous improvements, especially with a diverse group of competitors from the Champions Tour, Hart's Diesel Silver Series, and member-state Badger State Tractor Pullers. Additionally, the inclusion of www.ProPulling.tv to live stream the event, gives fans across the nation and world the chance to take the show in as well.
