POWRi Lonestar 600's Non Wing
Boland and Hyland Collect at 281 Speedway
Night #2 of the weekend's Doubleheader event. A beautiful sunny day in Stephenville, Texas. The POWRi Align Pro Lonestar 600's presented by K & K Earthworks take it on over to 281 Speedway by C & S Promotions. 24 600s & 11 Restrictors check in for the nights action.
600's heats hit the oval. Bush's Chicken Heat 1 Winner- Johnny Boland. Hyper Racing Heat 2- Isaiah Garcia. Lucas Oil Heat 3- Weldon Buford
Restrictors out next. Bush's Chicken Heat 1 - Chase Hyland. Smileys Racing Products Heat 2- Stephen Yates.
All 600s make the cut & transfer into the A main event. Line ups are posted for both classes.
It's go time 600s. They take to the track. File out into a 4 wide salute with a missing man. Fireworks in the air as we recognize a fallen racer, Jason Johnson. Ragin Cajun remembered by all. They double up and buckle down. Matt McDade & Johnny Boland lead them to the green. As they enter turn 3, Brandon Schnautz sends it off the back stretch into a violent flip. Driver checks out okay. Double file restart. Lap 3, Bash Ferguson loops her around brings out the caution. Driver rejoins at the tail. Boland holds the lead. Isaiah Garcia trailing in 2nd. Colton Corbin just behind in 3rd. Lap 5, Thomas Hall Sr. brings out the caution with a stalled ride on the back stretch. He rejoins the field at the rear. Boland still out front. Lap 8, a tire jumps out & collects it's prey Dustin Davidson. He retires. Garcia still holding second. Lap 10, Jacob Lucas & Jacob Barton touch and become a Jacob sandwich. Both drivers regroup & rejoin at the tail. Green, Boland hauling the mail. Lap 13, Albert Kelley & Robert Harbert dance. Sending Kelley into a soft roll. Both rides retire. Back to it. Boland still rolling. Jacob Lucas has passed 13 cars & moving into 8th. Randell Traylor has moved from 20th & up to 10th. White flag drops & Garcia looses the left front tire. Tough break and he retires. Boland snags the checkers. Parking his #1V ride in the Driven Midwest Performance Victory lane. Collecting the $750 prize money!
Let's roll out Restrictors! Wyatt Wilkerson & Chase Hyland lead them to the green. Hyland jumps for the lead. Wilkerson into 2nd. Dylan Still has cruised from 5th into 3rd. Christopher Townsend is on the move from 8th to now 4th. Half way, Stephen Yates finds a slower car & can't miss it. He spins it, saves it from flipping & goes to the rear. Hyland leads & never looks back. Making it a clean sweep. He parks his #5 ride in the Driven Midwest Performance victory lane. Pocketing $300 bucks!
