ACE, DEMING (SE), ALGER NEXT UP FOR HPD MIDGETS
NEMIRE (2) AND THOMAS WIN, RAIN TAKES GAS CITY
Washington and North Carolina are this week’s sites for USAC HPD Midget racing, with races at Deming Speedway and Skagit Speedway (Alger) in Washington and Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.
Chase Goetz tops the latest Washington points and Scott Hunter sits atop the current Eastern HPD standings.
Garrett Thomas of McCleary, Wash. led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Washington HPD Midget race at Grays Harbor Raceway. Goetz took second ahead of Jeremy Miller, Dougie James and Lance Sargent.
Friday night’s race at Deming is a non-points “Special Event,” while Saturday’s race at Alger carries full Washington points.
Austin Nemire of Toledo, Ohio has now won five of six USAC Midwest HPD pavement races after sweeping races t Xenia and Columbus, Ohio this past week.
Nemire grabbed Friday night’s 30-lap feature at Kil-Kare Raceway in Xenia, extending yet again his point lead in the process. He took the lead from Calvin Carroll on lap six and led the rest of the way to beat Jack Cross, Nikki Carroll, Calvin Carroll and Adam Thomason.
Nemire the won Saturday night’s 20-lapper at Columbus Motor Speedway. Adam Thomason finished second ahead of Calvin Carroll, Nikki Carroll and Jack Cross. Calvin Carroll led lap one, Thomason led laps 2-9 and Nemire led the rest.
The Eastern HPD race originally slated for this Saturday at Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Va. has been removed from the calendar.
