1st 2014 Win – Stone; 1st Career-Win Boutin
SOUTH PLATTSBURGH – Defending Ernie’s Tools 358-Modified champion Todd Stone of Middlebury, VT scored his 1st 2014 win Saturday, May 31. Stone started on the pole after some early-season struggles and drove off to his 13th Airborne-career win.
Canadian Pat McGrail finished 2nd, followed by Jessey Mueller, Chris Cayea and Leon Gonyo.
In Key RD Trailer Sales Renegade action, Jon Boutin of St. Albans, VT took the lead on a lap-15 restart and led the rest of the way to record his first career win, besting point leader and defending champion Lance Rabtoy. Robert Gordon, early leader Ray Germain and Jamy Begor were next.
The Ground Round Late Models ran twin 20’s. Bucko Branham was a dominant winner in the first round. The second twin-20 was won by Josh Masterson after a race-long door-to-door battle with rookie Josh LeClaire. When LeClaire weighed in too light, Branham became the runner-up with Nick Lagoy 3rd.
Dale O’Neill of Mooers won the Busch Mini Modified feature.
The Sportsman Modifieds return to action Saturday, June 7 for a 100-lap event.
