Lamberton Appointed Chief Technical Inspector

PLATTSBURGH- Airborne Park Speedway officials have appointed Mooers Forks native Mark Lamberton as chief technical inspector for the 2016 racing season.

Lamberton has a racing career that spans almost 30 years, both on dirt and asphalt surfaces. He began racing in 1986 at Airborne in the street stock division and has competed in several divisions since.

“Mark will bring a great deal of knowledge and integrity to the table as we look forward to a great 2016 season,” promoter John Walker said. “I believe, as a former racer, Mark understands the value of fair play and we both want what’s best for the racers, a fair playing field and equal treatment across the board. Mark is a very versatile person with great knowledge of all the divisions that race at Airborne and is always willing to lend a hand to his fellow racers.”

Lamberton received the invitation to become chief technical inspector back in early December.

“I was a little shocked when John asked me about doing this, and had to think about it for a while as I wasn’t sure if this was something for me. But, after a few meetings, it became clear that John wasn’t going to settle for just anyone. I think we are both looking for the same thing, fairness for all the racers,” Lamberton said.

“Other appointments are soon to follow,” Walker noted.

Airborne kicks off the 2016 season on Saturday, May 7.
