Airborne Adds October Enduro
PLATTSBURGH- Airborne Park Speedway staff and management has been working with Branham Racing on an Enduro in the month of October. The event will take place on Saturday, October 15 with a rain date on Sunday.
The event will be named the Robin Branham Crash for Cancer Enduro.
Robin Branham is currently battling small cell lung and liver cancer. The Branham Racing team has put in 53 years of quality racing and that quality product still continues today. Robin’s racing career lasted 15 years between 1974 and 1994. One of the greatest memories from Branham racing came from brothers Robin and Bill (Punk). In an exciting photo finish, Robin inched out Punk for victory. A moment that Robin continues to cherish and share to this day.
“The Branham family has been a staple in Airborne’s history,” Airborne Park Speedway Promoter John Walker said. “Bill and Robin’s battles are some of my greatest memories here and I’m glad were doing this event for Robin.”
A portion of the money raised at the event will go to the American Cancer Society, in Robin’s name.
More details will follow including post time and grandstand admission. The rules for the Enduro will be the same as the previous Enduro and can be found at http://www.airborneparkspeedway.com/rules. Any tech questions can be directed to Mark Lamberton at (518)236-2929.
Entry forms will be posted by Monday, September 5. All entries returned and paid before September 23 will be $50 and any entries received after September 23 will be $75.
