DIRTcar Sportsman Series Invades Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH – The DIRTcar Sportsman Series will be invading the Plattsburgh Airborne Speedway for a 50-lap, $1,000 to win event at 6 p.m. Saturday, presented by Casella Waster Systems Inc.
Sportsman Modified teams from across the northeast are expected compete, along with competitors from the provinces of Quebec and Ontario in Canada. Quebec ace, Martin Pelletier was the top driver in the North Region in 2018, just ahead of Ontario driver, Shane Pecore.
Last season’s event at Airborne was controlled by Pecore, as he finished a spot ahead of 2018 Poirier’s True Value Sportsman champion, Nick Heywood. Pecore is always a threat in Plattsburgh and all eyes will be on him from the start.
In addition to the DIRTcar Sportsman Series North Region invaders, the Poirer’s True Value Sportsman regulars will compete and give the outsiders a challenge.
Regular distance events are on the card for the Egglefield Ford 358-Modifieds, Hartson Total Opening Pro Stocks, Ernie’s Discount Tools Super Stocks and Chris Frennier Motorsports Strictly Stocks.
Grandstand gates will open at 4 p.m. with admission prices set at $15 for adults and kids age 12 and under free of charge. A full schedule of events will be posted at plattsburghairbornespeedway.com on Friday.
