Midget Round Up Draws Closer for Airport Raceway and TBJ Promotions
Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (Aug. 24, 2016) – The Midget Round Up is only a week and a half away.
The two-day event on Sept. 2-3 at Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan., features the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget Series and the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association and will be run under the TBJ Promotions banner.
“This will be the first time since 1999 that the track will host a midget race so it will certainly be a neat sight to see,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “I grew up racing at the track and won track championships there so it’s definitely a special place to me. I’m fortunate that I will be able to head back and promote an event like the Midget Round Up.”
There will not be a practice night as previously reported. Night 1 of the Midget Round Up kicks off on Sept. 2 with the front gates opening at 5 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. The finale will also start at 7:30 p.m. Colorado lightning sprints and non-wing micro sprints are also on the card both nights.
Adult tickets are $15 for Sept. 2 and $20 for Sept. 3. A two-day general admission pass is available for only $30 at http://www.TBJPromotions.com or at the ticket booth on the first day of the event. Children ages 6 to 12 are $5 per night with ages 5 and younger free. Pit passes are $30 each night.
“I want to thank the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau,” Bruce Jr. said. “They’ve really stepped up to help create a marquee event for the community with the help of some great sponsors.”
