Antioch Speedway – Saturday July 16

What:

The Golden State King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series will finish off the slate of events for the month of July this Saturday night with a show at the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, California. The night of racing will mark the 13th round of action for KWS, with six more events remaining in the season after this weekend.

When:

On Saturday July 16 the front grandstand gate will be open at 5pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 6pm, with qualifying at 6:30 and racing anticipated to start around 7.

Where:

Antioch Speedway is located on the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds at the corner of 10th and L Streets in Antioch, California. Take SR-4 East (Highway 4) to the Somersville Road North Exit. Follow Somersville Road to 10thStreet. Turn Right on 10th Street. The address for the track is 1201 W. 10th Street Antioch, CA 94509.

Tickets:

Tickets are on sale for Saturday’s event at the Antioch Speedway and can be purchased at the KWS office in Rio Vista. Race fans can purchase either a $20 reserved section ticket or a $45 VIP pit pass/ reserved section ticket. The contact number for the office is (707) 374-2222.

About the track:

The Antioch Speedway was lengthened and re-configured prior to the 2009 season and is now a one-third mile semi-banked dirt oval. Since the extension of the track Chico’s Jonathan Allard holds the track record at 11.840 seconds, which was set on April 3 of last year.

This past April at the Antioch Speedway:

The Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series opened the season at Antioch Speedway on April 9 and Jonathan Allard raced to victory in the main event over Evan Suggs, Jason Statler, Tim Kaeding and Brad Furr. Allard also began the night by setting fast time.

Upcoming for KWS:

Following this Saturday's race the Golden State King of the West Sprint Car Series will get a couple weekends off, before resuming action at the Ocean Speedway on Friday August 5 and the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway on Saturday August 6. The race in Hanford will be the first KWS visit of the season to the three-eighths mile clay oval.
