Kevin Swindell Racing and Bayston Opening Season This Weekend in Ohio With All Stars
=Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (April 3, 2018) – Kevin Swindell Racing is planning on 2018 being its biggest season thus far.
Spencer Bayston will be behind the wheel of the Swindell Speed Lab backed No. 39 for approximately 50 winged sprint car shows beginning this Friday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, during the Core & Main Spring Nationals with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
“We’re hoping to improve a little bit more,” Swindell said. “We had a lot of promise throughout last year. The focus is to take what we know and improve on it. Now it’s fine-tuning stuff and hopefully winning more races.”
The duo captured a pair of feature victories last season. The first came on April 15 at Attica Raceway Park with the second occurring on June 22 at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. Both races were All Star sanctioned.
“Last year was a learning year for the both of us,” Bayston said. “We want to build on it and we’re entering this year with a little higher expectations.”
Bayston said he’s comfortable competing at both tracks on the schedule this weekend.
“Atomic has always been a place we’ve been able to qualify well,” he said. “When the track has grip and a cushion I can get comfortable. Later in the night when it gets slick I’m still learning. We’ve had some really good runs there though.
“Attica is a place we’ve had success at in the past. That’s one of the first places we ran the No. 39 car. It’ll be good to get back there.”
Bayston has two top fives at each track while driving for Kevin Swindell Racing and the goal this weekend is to continue that level of success.
“We’re real comfortable at Attica for the most part,” Swindell said. “Atomic has been good. We’ve got the idea of it now. It’ll be good to go back to these places for a third and fourth time and really know what we need so we can start tinkering.”
