Sides Opening Month of Money This Week in Ohio

Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 9, 2018) – The ‘Month of Money’ has arrived for Jason Sides, who has four races in Ohio on tap this week.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series action begins on Tuesday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica for the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic before Eldora Speedway near Rossburg hosts the 35th annual Kings Royal Thursday through Saturday.

“I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “Attica hasn’t been one of our better tracks, but we’ve had some good runs at Eldora. We need to have a good qualifying effort each night and go from there.”

Sides captured the $50,000-to-win Kings Royal in 2004. He’s made the A Main during the marquee event during six of the last nine years, including two straight.

Sides tackled a doubleheader last weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown. He qualified 15th quickest on Friday before a charge from fifth to third place in a heat race lined him up ninth for the A Main.

“You could run anywhere on the track,” he said. “It was a good track all throughout the night. There was a top and bottom. It made for a good race all the way through.”

Sides battled for a top 10 throughout the race before ending 11th.

The weekend concluded on Saturday. Sides timed in 17th quickest in qualifying, placed fifth in a heat race and netted a 13th-place result in the A Main.

“I felt pretty decent,” he said. “We started where we left off Friday. I thought we were going to be pretty good, but I went in there and pushed up the track on the first lap of the main event. It seemed like I fell back three or four spots on that first lap. I fought to get back to where I started. By the time I did the race was over.”
