Wilson Records Top 10 at Attica Raceway Park With Busy Weekend on Tap

Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (Aug. 29, 2022) – Greg Wilson produced his 18th top 10 of the season last Friday at Attica Raceway Park.

The Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics sponsored driver guided the Seeling Motorsports No. 97 sprint car to the seventh quickest qualifying time. A fifth-place finish in a heat race was followed by Wilson advancing from ninth to sixth in the main event.

“We accomplished kind of what I was hoping we’d accomplish,” he said. “We’re still struggling with what’s under the hood, but at the end of the day we have our car back to where we’ve been trying to get to for a while. Going to Attica, a place we’ve been decent at, Andy (Potter) took some big swings at it. We’d have liked to be a little better, but compared to where we’d been the last month and a half it was nice to feel the car being comfortable.

“It was a confidence booster all around. Hopefully the progress we made with the car and getting me back comfortable will carry over to this weekend. For whatever reason we lost our way a little bit. I feel like last weekend was a good step forward.”

The team plans to join the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions this Friday and Saturday at Sharon Speedway. The track in Hartford, Ohio, hosts the Sharon Nationals and the Lou Blaney Memorial. Wilson recorded a fourth-place finish last month during his most recent visit to the dirt oval.

“I’m pretty optimistic,” he said. “Whenever you go to these races where the level of competition is amped up, a lot of it is dictated by your heat race group and your time trialing. Early in the year when we had our car rolling well we were in contention. If we can time in respectably I think we’ll be okay. I think that’s the key to the weekend.”

If the action at Sharon Speedway goes well Wilson will also race on Sunday at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, during the Pete Jacobs Memorial.

Additionally, Wilson has a Hercules Tires dealership visit planned on Thursday at Vans Tire Pros of Plain TWP in Canton, Ohio, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
