Mallett Looking Forward to ASCS National Tour Weekend in Missouri

Inside Line Promotions – WEST PLAINS, Mo. (May 8, 2023) – Jordon Mallett is heading to Missouri this weekend for an ASCS National Tour doubleheader in ‘The Show-Me State.’
Mallett will make his debut at Electric City Speedway in Butler on Friday before venturing to Moberly Motorsports Park in Moberly on Saturday for the first time in seven years.
“I didn’t know that Electric City Speedway existed until the race was announced,” he said. “I looked at some pictures and it looks like an exciting place to go to. I like going to new tracks. I feel we adapt pretty well and it gives us less chance to worry about notebooks. We’ll just focus on what the track is doing and have less time to overthink things.”
Mallett’s lone visit to Moberly Motorsports Park came in April 2016.
“We were ripping the wall down and had made it into the top 10 in about six or eight laps,” he said. “I broke a motor and it resulted in a 20th-place finish.
“We might look back at the notebook on when we were there, but really it’s just to see the characteristics of what that place did throughout the night. Everything has changed so much with cars and tires. We’ll just go with our baseline stuff and make adjustments from there. If you get too buried up in old notes it can cripple you because that’s not necessarily what the place will do seven years later.”
Mallett’s most recent race came in Missouri when he headed to Legit Speedway Park in West Plains on April 29. He placed fourth in a heat race during the ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Warrior Region race, but elected to pull off the track after taking the green flag because of a steering issue.
“We’ve got that situation resolved so we’re looking forward to getting back to racing this weekend with our best foot forward,” said Mallett, who was credited with an 11th-place result.
