Zach Sise Wins $10,000 in One for the Road, Cardwell Bags 2024 Season Championship

The weather was not on our side, but Randy Kinder at Beckley Motor Speedway was full committed to making One for the Road happen. In an event that was delayed by one day thirty-six of America's Best Pro Late Models signed in for battle one last time in 2024.

BHR Fabrication Qualifying Group A saw Zach Sise go the fastest with a time of 13.617 over Hayden Cardwell with a 13.625 and Tyler Bare third with a time of 13.782. Double Nickle Race Cars Group B would see the fast time of the evening overall with Randy Weaver turing a 13.397 and setting the new track record. Ryan Smith also broke the old track record turning a time of 13.477 and Josh Dietz went third at a 13.580.

ATC Bolts and Fasteners Dash saw Randy Weaver pull off before the opening green flag with an issue. Zach Sise would grab the win with Hayden Cardwell second and Tyler Bare taking third. The Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet Heat 1 saw an exciting battle with Gregory Carrico taking the victory over AJ Hicks and Logan Kirkman. Outside Groove Heat 2 saw TJ Salango with a rocket ship as he grabbed the victory over Logan Walls and Kennie Compton. PPM Racing Products Heat 3 would go to Henry Hornsby III over Kyle Hardy and Mack Brookover. American Racer Heat 4 was won by Brandon Umberger over Freddie Carpenter and Justin Williams. Dirt Rich B-Main 1 was won by Shane Greco with Steve Adkins also transferring. Gasko Gaskets B-Main 2 was won by Samuel Bryant over Baillie Lowe. The provisionals on the night went to Joshua Chesney and Corey Almond.

The feature field was set and it was a humdinger of a race. All the rain made the track extremely hammer-down and fast, but it maintained a great surface all evening long. Zach Sise would jump to the lead as Weaver and Salango were two early movers in the field. Several cautions did prolong the event as everyone was driving very hard with it being the final event of the year. Tyler Bare and Hayden Cardwell swapped spots for 2nd and 3rd several times and several times both closed on Sise. Cardwell did make a move and pass Sise and lead one lap in the event, but Sise would not be denied. Zach Sise went on to lead 69 of the 70 laps for the $10,000 victory and the largest payday of his racing career. Hayden Cardwell finished second with Tyler Bare close behind in third. Kyle Hardy would have a solid fourth place run with the Hyperco Hard Charger Corey Almond coming from last to fifth. Samuel Bryant would have a great run in the Eddie Groome owned #G6 finishing sixth and Kennie Compton took seventh. Logan Kirkman, Justin Williams, and Gregory Carrico would round out the top ten.

Hayden Cardwell would pretty much lock up the championship on lap one when AJ Hicks lost a drive shaft unfortunately ending his chase for a championship. Brandon Fouts was also celebrated as the weekly series champion.

Tee Evans would take the victory in the Mini Wedge feature with Brayden Mills capturing the championship.
