Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 28, 2015) – Jack Dover continued his stellar record at I-80 Speedway last Sunday when he captured his first feature victory of the season.
Dover led all but one lap of the 22-lap Charlie Clark Memorial with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints to garner the $1,322 winner’s share along with a $200 gift card to Speedway Motors.
“I’d say luck was on our side all night,” he said. “My girlfriend, Lauren, drew the No. 1 for the heat race and we checked out. I switched some stuff on my car and redrew for the feature. I was either the fifth or sixth highest in points and I drew the No. 1.”
That put Dover on the pole for the main event at a high-banked track where he had registered seven wins and 17 top fives in his previous 27 races entering Sunday.
“The first couple of laps me and Seth Brahmer, who started on the outside of the front row, battled back and forth,” he said. “He got by me on Lap 3, but I passed him back going into turn 1 and I led the rest of the way.”
Dover has now won during each of his 11 years in a full-size sprint car.
“It feels real good,” he said. “Once we get a win it’s a confidence booster and it makes me more greedy for another win.”
Last Saturday’s Nebraska 360 Sprints event at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., was rained out.
Dover will return to action this Saturday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., for the Hinchman Racewear Eagle Nationals and Sunday at Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kan., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
He claimed the prestigious Hinchman Racewear Eagle Nationals in 2011 and was victorious at the track twice last season.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday,” he said. “I know how to get around there real well so hopefully we can get another win.”
Dover also won at Belleville High Banks in 2012, which was the last time he visited the famed track.
