Bald Tire Bash, Sport Compact Super Sunday August 14 at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa – There’s something for everyone this Sunday at Benton County Speedway.

Due to last week’s postponed event, the August 14 racing program at The Bullring is going to be chock full of excitement as the season enters its final weeks.

The Bald Tire Bash, paying $2,000 to the winner of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature presented by Vermedahl Logistics, will headline on-track action Sunday night. All competitors must use tires with a maximum tread depth of 5/32”. The Stock Car winner also earns B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility.

Sunday’s Stock Car feature pays $200 to start. There is no entry fee.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds presented by KISS Country 96.5 will pay $1,000 to the winner and earn that driver Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility.

Modifieds and Stock Cars will be draw/redraw and running for IMCA state, regional and national points only.

Sunday’s program will include the regularly scheduled Sport Compact Super Sunday, which will pay $500 to the winner of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature.

Weekly racing will also be held for the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Christie Door Company in a $500 to win event, plus $400 to win IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. INEX Legends presented by Legends.Direct will award $250 to the winner.

In addition, the American Iron Racing Season (A.I.R.S.) cars will be making their final appearance of the season Sunday night.

Racing for Autism and Kids’ Backpack Night are also scheduled to be part of Sunday’s show, both rescheduled from the washed out August 7 event.

Racing for Autism is being held in support of local Cedar Falls non-profit organization Every Piece Matters, which helps provide communication tools for the community to create an environment that is inclusive to those with diverse communication needs.

Every Piece Matters has supplied more than 250 communication boards for children to utilize on the playground and in the classroom.

Kids’ Backpack Night, organized by The Lil’ Racer Car Club, features a backpack giveaway to school aged children. More than 100 backpacks filled with school supplies will be given away to kids in attendance.

Kids’ power wheel races will also be held prior to the start of Sunday’s program.

Additionally, door prize giveaways and raffles are scheduled to be part of Sunday’s show.

Pits open at 3 p.m. and grandstand at 4. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:30 with racing to follow.

Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and veterans, and $5 for ages 6-14. Kids ages five and under are admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30.

Sunday’s program is the final event leading up to the August 21 season championship night.
