Chick Scores Ninth-Place Result at Berlin Raceway With JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Inside Line Promotions – MARNE, Mich. (Aug. 16, 2018) – Mandy Chick recorded a ninth-place result last Saturday during a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour event at Berlin Raceway.

Chick opened the action by laying down a qualifying lap that timed in 12th quickest.

“We had a decent qualifying effort,” she said. “I knew that we had a good car and would be able to move forward in the feature.”

Chick started the feature event from the outside of the sixth row. She settled into the top 10 for the majority of the feature and maneuvered her way up to seventh for several laps before bringing the No. 23 pro late model home with a ninth-place finish. It marked her second top 10 of the season.

“It was a solid weekend as far as points go,” she said. “For the last 45 laps I was racing without a spotter. I was having to go back on prior knowledge and move my racing line as necessary and use more of my senses as far as sound and feel of the cars on the inside or outside of me. That definitely presented a challenge, but we powered through and ended with a good finish.”

Chick is locked into the Chase for the Championship as she currently sits third in the championship standings.

Since Chick is locked into the Chase, she is also eligible for the 2018 CRA Most Popular Driver Award. Fans are able to vote for the most popular driver at Speed51.com once a day. Chick’s next race will be Aug. 25 at Owasso Speedway in Avid, Mich., with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.

“Going into the next race weekend my team and I pretty much set the goal as a top-10 finish,” she said. “The Chase for the Championship is about to kick off and we needed a solid finish to continue our championship battle.”
