Can-Am Speedway Thanking The Race Fans With Full Show Friday Night

Racing is about many things. Yes, it’s about winning and going faster than your competitors. Without a few important things, like sponsors, helping drivers get the best equipment they can, we couldn’t be able to see the top drivers battle it out weekly at the Nasty Track of the North. But one thing that is the most important part of a speedway is the fans and Can-Am is looking forward to our annual Fan Appreciation Night.

A full card of racing awaits our great race fans this coming Friday night and a special giveaway for the kids this weekend also. The first 200 kids through the main gate, will get a free bicycle helmet. The evening will be brought to you by Victims Assistance Center & Child Advocacy Center, Child Fatality Review Team out of Watertown. The race teams have also generously donated a variety of bikes, scooters, and big wheels and all youth in attendance will be entered into the intermission drawing to take one home.

The evening will see the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman, Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman, Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints and the Sundance Leisure Thundercars.

Last week in the 25 lap Summer Starter return for the Whitesboro Plowshop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds, the finish came down to a pair of former track champions, who put on a fantastic battle for the checkered flag. Lance Willix held off 6 time track champion Billy Dunn for his first win of the season. It turned out to be a great weekend for Lance, as he represented Can-Am very well, claiming a Sunday night checkered flag at Glen Ridge.

Mike Fowler turned in a dominant performance, claiming the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman 20 lap feature. Fowler charged to the front in a hurry, taking the lead from early pace setter Jonathan Murphy and holding it the rest of the way to win the caution free race over Josh Reome.

Logan Brown has been the talk of the town in the Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman. He passed Genavieve Bartlett with 4 laps remaining to grab his third win in 4 tries.

Andrew Hennessy finally got to victory lane at the Can-Am Speedway in the Panther Frameworx Crate Sprints. Hennessy grabbed the lead from Josh Verne Jr. at the start of the 15 lap event and drove away to victory.

In the Sundance Leisure Thundercars, Anthony St, Mary Jr. finally had something go his way, as he debuted a brand new car and drove away from defending track champion Francis White, to earn his first career win in dominant fashion.

Gates open at 5pm with racing starting at 7pm. Don’t forget to check out our website at racecanam.com for the latest updates. For instant updates give us a follow on Facebook. If you can’t be there in person watch the show live on Dirt Track Digest TV and add us to your favorites on My Race Pass.
