Rilat Invading 9th annual Oil City Cup with World of Outlaws This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Aug. 24, 2015) – Travis Rilat is heading back to Canada this weekend to compete at the 9th annual Oil City Cup.

Rilat will team up with Richard Saumure this Friday and Saturday at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series doubleheader. It will be the duo’s first trip back to the 3/8-mile oval since winning a race there in July.

“It’s always a fun time to head to Castrol Raceway with the team,” Rilat said. “Plus, I know I’ll have a great car and that’s what you need to produce results whenever you face the World of Outlaws.”

Rilat earned results of 11th and 14th, respectively, during the event last year. He placed 17th in both features in 2013 and recorded a pair of top 10s at Castrol Raceway in 2012 with finishes of ninth and 10th, respectively.

“We’ve won races there during the Gold Cup and we’ve run well there during the World of Outlaws doubleheader,” he said. “I’m looking forward to having a car that can contend for a top 10 each night. The key is to put down a good qualifying lap and set yourself up for an opportunity to make the dash.”

Rilat and Saumure have combined to earn four feature victories this season. All four wins have come in the last eight races, when the team has scored seven podium finishes.

“We are running well lately and feel like we have momentum on our side,” Rilat said. “Momentum and confidence go a long way in racing.”
