Solid in the South

The URC / USCS North South Shootout this past weekend was a huge success. Packed grandstands and excited fans made for an electric atmosphere at both the speedways. URC had a strong contingency head south. Among them Dan Mazy, URC's 2012 rookie of the year made the 530 plus mile trek south from Kutztown, PA. In his first ever showing at the carolina speedway, In his first event with the USCS he advanced 10 positions in A main coming from the 20th starting spot to finish 10th, claiming the DMI USCS Top Ten Award.
Night number two showed Mazy the high banks of Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney South Carolina. First time on the speedway Mazy ripped of a torrid pace destroying a USCS stacked Heat field in route to the win. Although speed was in the car early in the night Mazy missed the balance on the car in the A main and slid from 3rd to 9th.
All and all it was a strong showing against a very talented field of cars a long way from home. As a whole URC showed very well against the USCS on their home turf. URC took 8 of the top ten spots on night number one and took 7 of the top ten spots on night number two. Next up for the URC is Granviews 5 25's show. Mazy will roll off from the sixth position on October 19th.
