Village Green To Host Charity Event

Cottage Grove, Oregon- The staff of Cottage Grove’s Village Green Resort is happy to announce that they will be hosting a charity event this coming weekend. On Saturday July 20th at 10:00 AM the resort will host a pinewood derby race and Sunday July 21st will consist of a KICK-IT For Cancer kick ball game, auction, barbeque, and more. The Sunday event is slated to begin at 11:00 AM at the Gathering Gardens portion of the grounds.
Money for auction items will be raised for the Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation. The mission of this foundation is to provide motorsports trips and racing opportunities for kids battling life threatening conditions and illnesses. The Village Green Resort is located at 725 Row River Road in Cottage Grove. We hope to see everyone there.
Also “Duck Nut” will be hand along with University of Oregon tailgating bus. Duck Nut will be at the pinewood derby, kick ball game, as well as the Cottage Grove Speedway giving goodies away to children.
The nearby Cottage Grove Speedway will be hosting races featuring the American Sprint Car-National Tour and Northwest Wingless Tour. Tickets for Friday will be Adults $20.00, Juniors (13-18)/Seniors/Military $15.00, Youths (12-7) $7.00, 5 And Under are FREE, and Sky Box Seats $35.00. While on Saturday Adults are $25.00, Juniors (13-18)/Seniors/Military $17.00, Youths (12-6) $10.00, 5 And Under FREE, and Sky Box Seats $35.00. Two-Day Pass will be offered and are Adults $40.00, Juniors (13-18)/Seniors/Military $30.00, Youths (12-6) $15.00, and Sky Box Seats $60.00.
The Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted fast and exciting action as far back as 1956. Since then the ¼-mile banked oval has been regarded as a place where fast times are set and plenty of side-by-side racing occurs. Regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, NW Extreme Winged Sprint Cars, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hornets from the months of April till October every Saturday night.
