Cottage Grove, Oregon- The action continues at the Cottage Grove Speedway as the ¼-mile clay oval will play host to Welt & Welt Night on Saturday August 10th. The night is expected to have a wonderful car count and the racing is guaranteed to be mouthwatering. The classifications that will be competing include the 360 Sprints, Northwest Extreme Sprints, Street Stocks, and Late Models. While racing is not taking place games and giveaways are scheduled to take place during the course of the evening.

Tickets for the races on Saturday are $12.00 for Adults, Senior/Military/Junior (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children under the age of five are FREE. A Family Pass is offered for $30.00 which includes two Adults and up to four Youths. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM, front gates 4:00, time trials 5:30, and racing starts around 6:45.

The 360 Sprints and Northwest Extreme Sprints will be running together but the Northwest Extreme Sprints will be awarded separate points for their championship standings. Roger Crockett so far has the most wins in the 360 Sprint ranks with eight victories. Rob Held is the only other driver to have won a main event in the class this year. However Roger Crockett will be absent this weekend due to competing in the Knoxville Nationals in Iowa. Crockett currently has the luxury of a one-hundred-nineteen point lead over Held in the standings.

In the Northwest Extreme Sprints a terrific point battle is taking place. Two markers separate Raquel Ivie, who has the lead, and second place Kady Adelman. Ivie leads the division in feature victories, with three, over Adelman’s two. Dan Philpott is the only other main event winner in 2013.

The Street Stocks are coming off of an action packed weekend at “The Grove”. Currently Darin Crooks has a massive two-hundred-thirty-five point lead over second place Daniel Ray. Crooks has visited the winner’s circle a total of four times while Ray has done so on three occasion including last Saturday night. Drivers that have won once are Steve Begley, Jordan Braaten, and T.J Langan.

The Late Model division has been very entertaining to watch all season long. Paul Culp is in search of his first title at CGS as he has a ninety-seven point lead over the current runner-up Chuck Christian. Collen Winebarger has made it to victory lane three times this year which is the most anyone has been able to do so far. Trevor Glaser has two triumphs including the Firecracker 100 on Independence Day. Drivers with just one main event win include Paul Culp, Chuck Christian, and Shaun Mayea.
