Cottage Grove, Oregon- The annual Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals is always a weekend of non-stop action. Some of the best IMCA Modified drivers around will assemble at the always exciting Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday July 10th and Saturday the 11th. One of those drivers include the four-time defending winner Jesse Williamson who is hot off of his 2015 Wild West Modified Shootout championship a few weeks ago. This year's race is named in honor of longtime racer and mentor Mark Howard and will feature two twenty-six, his longtime number, laps main events for a total of fifty-two laps to decide the winner.

Cottage Grove Speedway has hosted ten IMCA Modified races in 2015 and has produced five different winners. Both Jesse Williamson and Kinzer Cox have managed to make it to victory lane three times each this year. Curtis Towns, Braedon Hand, and Jason Kocks have all won once in the current campaign.

From 2003 until 2011 a CGS Modified National event was held except for 2006 which was lost to weather. Each installment has produced memories that will never be forgotten. Rick Zuvich’s 2003 triumph with a flat tire, the three-wide battle for the lead on the last lap in 2005, and the dominance of Dustin Dittman in 2011 which saw him become untouchable come feature time.

In ten CGS Mod National races there have been four different winners. Jon DeBenedetti and Jesse Willaimson lead the list with a total of four wins each. Rick Zuvich and Dustin Dittman have each recorded one apiece.

The 2015 format will be a point system where the top ten in main event, heat race and qualifying points from Friday get locked into Saturday's feature. The rest of the drivers will re-qualify through heats on the second night and will be starting behind the locked in cars. For more detailed information regarding the format click on the link below this story.

Admission prices both nights are Adults $13.00, Juniors/Seniors/Military $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and 5 & Under FREE. Times for each race are Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Qualifying 5:30, and Racing begins right around 6:45.
