Cottage Grove, Oregon- After a thrilling weekend of racing last Sunday, Cottage Grove Speedway is set for two exciting nights as the 2019 schedule continues to roll right along. On Friday, May 31st, the Karts will race for the third time this year while Saturday, June 1st, is Driver Appreciation Night on the ¼-mile clay oval. Classes on the card include the Todd’s Auto Body Sprint Cars, Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds, Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and Hornets. A large crowd is expected, and Front Gates will be opening up at 2:00 PM.

On Friday for Karts the Pit Gates open at 3:00 PM and the Pit Meeting (with Hot Laps/Racing to follow) at 6:00. General Admission is FREE, Pit Passes $10.00, and Car/Driver Entry $35.00. On Saturday the Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 2:00, and Time Trials at 5:30 with Racing beginning at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults, Seniors/Juniors/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. CGS offers a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) for $35.00, VIP Skybox Seating is $25.00 each, and Pit Passes are $30.00. The Todd’s Auto Body Sprint Cars have completed just two races where both Tanner Holmes and Ian Bandey were the winners. The same sort of parity in wins continue to the Mohawk Metal IMCA Modifieds where Collen Winebarger, Derrik Young, and Jake Mayden all bested the field once so far this year. In IMCA Sport Mod competition Matt Sanders has two visits to victory lane while Jorddon Braaten and Buddy McHargue have finished first only once.

In just one appearance in 2019 for the Late Models, Brian Smith got the job done for the triumph. The Street Stocks too have only been to CGS once as well and it was David Schmidt the winner. Lastly, three different victors have been to victory in lane in as many Hornet features. Those drivers that have tasted success include Graig Osborne, Joe Maricle, and Eric Ashley.
