WALLBANGER CUP UP NEXT AT COTTAGE GROVE SPEEDWAY!!
The annual Wallbanger Cup is set for this Saturday, May 15th at Cottage Grove Speedway. The Wallbanger Cup is one of the most prestigious Street Stock races in the Northwest and is ran in memory of the late, great Mark "Marky Wallbanger" Howard. Mark was not only a huge piece of Cottage Grove Speedway but of racing all over the Northwest. You would be hard pressed to find a person that Mark didn't help during his time here. He was definitely one of the good ones!
It is our huge honor to run this race in memory of such an amazing man! You can bet that the best of the best will be in attendance Saturday night battling it out for the coveted Wallbanger Cup and to be the one to scrape it along the front stretch as is tradition!
Please note that all Cottage Grove Speedway Street Stock rules will be enforced for this event.
Saturday's races will also feature 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, and IMCA Sport Compacts. Tickets are very limited due to Covid restrictions and can be purchased in advance at www.cottagegrovespeedway.com

2021 WALLBANGER CUP FORMAT
Pill draw for heat race positioning, each heat race group will group qualify in order, heat race/hot lap groups will be the same.
Heats will be lined up with a 6 car invert, failure to run hot laps in your group will result in being lined up in rear of heat
Heats: heat races will run with the ascs point system however bonus points will be given for qualifying as follows: - Please Note** Outside Pole will NOT receive passing points
1st-15
2nd-12
3rd-8
4th-5
Points will be tallied after all heats top 16 directly to A main
Ties will be broken by hot lap speed
Top 8 will redraw for A main line up in the event of tie for 8th point position all cars will draw for position that are tied (ex if 8th and 9th are tied 9 cars redraw)
17th through remainder of field will line up by points for B main (top 4 transfer to A main)
17 cars or less 2 heats
18-23 3 heats
24-32 4 heats
33 + 5 heats
17-32 cars single B main ,transfer 4
33 plus cars , 2 B- mains transfer 2 each
