Sprint Invaders Tackle Davenport and West Burlington This Weekend!

(Bill W) June 23, 2022 – The Sprint Invaders renew their annual June weekend at the Davenport Speedway on the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on Friday, June 24, and the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, June 25.

Mother Nature has been the big winner in Davenport in recent years. Kaley Gharst won there in 2012. The race will be conducted on the exciting quarter-mile on Friday. On the contrary, the series has visited no venue more than 34 Raceway. This will mark the 63rd time the Sprint Invaders have run on the 3/8-mile oval, and the main event will mark the 71st feature run. Jerrod Hull and Matt Rogerson still sit atop the all-time win list at 34 with five wins apiece. John Schulz, Dustin Selvage and Josh Schneiderman all have four wins, and three-time winners include Bobby Mincer, Gharst, Matt Sutton, Ryan Jamison, Jon Agan and Paul Nienhiser. In May, Waco, Texas’s Chase Randall came from the back of the B to win the main event on an extremely racy track!

Three-time series champion, Ryan Jamison leads the current point standings over Cody Wehrle, Jamie Ball, Bret Tripplett and Gharst. Devin Wignall, Cam Martin, Tanner Gebhardt, Colton Fisher and Tyler Lee round out the top ten.

Grandstands open at 4:00 p.m. in Davenport Friday, with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Adult general admission is $18, Kids 5-12 are $5 and four and under are FREE.

Admission at 34 Raceway is $15 for adults, $13 for students 11-17 and seniors, and FREE for ten and under. IMCA Mods, Sport Mods, Sport Compacts and Mini-Haulers are also on the card.
