Alberts and Hale First Time Winners in USRA Action

SPRING VALLEY, MN:  August 11, 2012 - (Photo courtsey of JD Photography)  The Hinz Trucking USRA B-Modifieds were first on the track for their feature event with Parker Hale, Mike Jaeger and Josh Smith racing for the lead out of turn two. Hale took command of the event on lap three as Smith dropped back and Jacob Bleess moved up to challenge him for second. With four down Hale led with Bleess and Smith still side by side for the second spot as the caution flew over the field. On the restart Hale took off out front with Bleess now into second. Smith sat in third with Ben Moudry and Brady Keefe racing for the fourth spot. On the next circuit Moudry moved past Smith for the third spot. Jerry Young now worked under Smith for the fourth spot. By lap ten Kylie Kath had moved into the top five and was pressuring Young for the fourth spot. With twelve down Hale was pulling away out front with Moudry and Bleess battling for the second spot. Bleess kept control of the spot while Kath got pinched into the turn one wall allowing Scott Demmer to crack the top five as the laps wound down. Hale took home the victory his first feature win at Deer Creek Speedway followed by Bleess, Moudry, Young and Demmer. Bleess and Demmer won heat races in preliminary action.
The Cap N Cork Wine & Spirits WISSOTA Street Stocks had wild action up front. Down the back stretch on the start they were four wide for the second spot as Bernie Adams held the early lead.  Shaun Mann, Kory Adams and Mike Blowers were three wide for second on lap two with Blowers then bouncing off the wall and dropping back out of the top five. With three down Mann and K. Adams were side by side for second with Travis Krause moving into the fourth spot. With Bernie Adams leading Mann took over the second spot with Krause following into third. Shaun Mann took over the lead on lap six leaving Krause and Bernie Adams fighting for second.   Krause took over the second spot with Kory passing dad for the third spot on lap eight. The final caution was on lap thirteen with Krause taking over the lead out of turn two only to have a restart called. Mann took over on the restart and never looked back to the checkers. Kory Adams snatched second away from Krause in the closing lap while AJ Zvorak finished fourth ahead of Bernie Adams.

Don Schaefer led the opening circuit of the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds with Josh Crary in second. Crary took over the lead on lap two with Jared Boumeester following through into second. A restart on lap four saw Boumeester taking the lead with Cody Gardner moving into second ahead of Crary and Dustin Scott. Scott found a groove and moved into second on lap eight. By lap nine front runner Cory Crapser moved to the high side and started to gain ground. He moved past Crary for the fourth spot while Scott worked on Boumeester up front. Scott pulled alongside on lap ten and eleven but was unable to complete the pass. Behind them Crapser moved past Gardner on lap fourteen to take over the third spot. At the finish it was Boumeester with the win, Scott, Crapser, Gardner and Bill Stettner rounded out the top five. Jason Born, Nick Koehler and Crapser were heat race winners.

Ed Sanders took the early lead in the Wagner Trucking WISSOTA Super Stocks with a two three wide battles behind him. Kelly Anderson took over second on lap three with Jeff Brauer in closer pursuit. Anderson took over the lead on lap four with Brauer and Sanders racing for second. They made contact bringing out the caution. On the restart Anderson led with Sanders in second. Brian Fetting took over second on the next lap while Dave Solum and Kevin Hager raced for the fourth spot. Anderson checked out from the field with most fans watching Brauer work back through the field. By lap eight he was into fifth and then worked past Solum for fourth on lap twelve and Sanders on lap fourteen. That was as far as he would get as Anderson had cruised out to a full straight lead over Fetting in second. Anderson took home the checkers with Fetting, Brauer, Sanders and Josh Bartel rounding out the top five. Brauer and Anderson won heat races.

A close finish was in store for the Altenburg Construction WISSOTA Late Models tonight along with a couple heavily damaged cars. Kelly Anderson jumped out front in the feature with Neil Eckhart in second. The caution flew as the first lap was trying to be completed as Nick Herrick and Roger Torgerson got together in turn one with both cars heavily damaged. On the complete restart Anderson again led with Mike Prochnow blasting around the high side to move quickly into second. Eckhart sat in third with Jerry Bloom in fourth. With two down, Bloom, Lance Matthees and Nick Beyenhof were three wide for the fourth spot with Beyenhof taking the spot on lap three. With six down Eckhart moved past Anderson for the second spot. Jake Redetzke was racing with Bloom for the fifth spot now as Beyenhof worked around Anderson for the third spot.   Redetzke took over the fourth spot on lap eight and on lap twelve moved past Beyenhof for the third spot. Up front it was getting entertaining as Eckhart seemed to be closing in on Prochnow up front while Redetzke started to closer up on him. Redetzke was moving forward faster and caught Eckhart on lap nineteen and passed him for second. As the white flew Redetzke was on Prochnow's bumper as they came out of four to the checkers Redetzke got a good drive out of four and caught Prochnow at the line winning by 5/100ths of a second (about a nose cone). Eckhart held on for third ahead of Beyenhof and Jumbeck. Prochnow and Nick Herrick won the heat races.

In the NAPA AutoCare USRA Modified feature Joel Alberts jumped out front with Bob Timm in second. Mike Sorensen and Mark Teske raced for the third spot early on. Sorensen worked past Timm for second with Teske following through in third. Jacob Dahle and Brandon Davis raced for the fifth spot while Lucas Schott and Steve Wetzstein joined them for a four car battle during the mid-part of the race. Teske worked past Sorensen on lap fifteen to take over the second spot while Alberts cruised up front in the lead. Brandon Davis took over the fourth spot as Timm faded back through the field. Alberts was on a rail out front and cruised home around the bottom of the speedway to take home his first ever feature win at the speedway. Teske, Sorensen, Davis and Schott rounded out the top five with hard Charger Nate Wasmund coming from eighteenth to take home sixth. Wetzstein, Schott and Davis were heat winners.
