Jon Tesch led the first two laps from the pole position with outside front row starter Al Hejna in tow. Hejna followed suit and got by Tesch the next time around, but was unable to make up any ground on the high-flying Ruter as he pulled away and managed his way through lapped traffic without missing a beat.
