Chisholm With A Double Feature Win, Wagner And Jacobs Both Finish On Top

Spring Valley, MN - Shanna Motl:  The June 10, 2017 Blake Trucking Slingshot races at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN were hot and windy with plenty of action on the track.
Lets start with the Pee Wee feature race where the two youngsters of Curtis Parmenter in the 7C and Tucker Jacobs in the 78J were ready to battle it out in their 10 lap feature race.  The 7C of Parmenter started on pole, but it was the 78J of Jacobs who jumped out to an early lead.  The 7C of Parmenter ran a good race, but Jacobs simply would not let up and found himself again finishing in 1st place followed by the 7C of Parmenter in 2nd.

The Junior slingshot class was being led by the 43 of Koby Wagner with the 8T of Toby Kennedy on the outside. The K34 of Kolton Brauer started second row inside.  These three drivers fought hard the entire 12 lap feature with less than a car length between each of them for most of the race.  The 8T of Kennedy tried to close the gap between him and the 43 of Wagner, but Wagner wasn’t giving up his lead and finished in 1st place followed by the Kennedy in 2nd, and Brauer in 3rd.

The senior slingshot class had the 28jr of Devin Born starting on pole alongside the 20 of Gage Motl on the outside. The 25 of Joe Chisholm started second row inside.  At the green flag, Born and Motl battled for first, but as Motl got wide on turn 4, the 25 of Chisholm found an opening and moved up into 2nd place ahead of Motl.  Born drove hard into the turns trying to keep his lead ahead of Chisholm, but found himself sideways coming out of turn four allowing Chisholm to take over the top spot and a caution.  On the restart, and only 2 laps to go, the 25 of Chisholm was able to stay out ahead to clench his first victory of the day followed by the 20 of Motl in 2nd and the 28jr of Born in 3rd.
The 77 of Hunter Kennedy and the 29 of Lilli Reps were unable to race the feature race due to mechanical issues.  The 25 of Chisholm also pulled out another feature win later in the night in the make-up feature from the week prior giving him a double feature win for the night!

Heat Race winners included the 7C of Curtis Parmenter in the Pee Wee class, the 8T of Toby Kennedy and the 43 of Koby Wagner in the Junior class, and the 25 of Joe Chisholm in the Senior Class.
