USRA Stock cars: 26 Stock Cars made the maiden voyage to Deer Creek for 2021, after three tight qualifying heats, the feature was something special for the fans at the Creek. Andrew Borchardt was our hard charger finishing 8th from his 22nd starting spot. Nice Job in the #21 from Plymouth IA. Brady Link in the #29 from Waukon, IA started up front and lead through the halfway point as he battled with #11 of Jake Lampert and #11K Darrin Korthals, and the #1G of Patrick Graham early on. The #15 of Mitch Hovden was in the battle and ran side by side with Brady after 5th caution flag on lap 6 he jumped to high side and ran door to door through lap 14 when he passed for the lead at the flag stand. Started them on Lap 16 and we went red with the #24 of Josh Zieman rolled over a couple times on the front straight away. Everyone was okay and we eventually made a green flag run to the end with the KS Engineering powered Mitch Hovden taking the checkered flag with Gjere finishing second and Link third. Can’t wait to see them all return September 18th for the USRA Stock car Nationals at Deer Creek Speedway.

Dirt Dr. Trucking, Wissota Midwest Mods: 22 racers, made for a great feature race, with only two cautions, the pace was fast with a continuous challenge for 2nd – 6th, through the entire race. But the feel-good moment came through Mitch Weiss! After piling his hot rod into the point of the concrete wall with Tianna Mithun last week, Mitch Weiss thrashed on it all week and put it in Tralo Victory Lane by .019 seconds over a charging Kadden Kath this week. Congratulations Mr. Weiss. REDEMPTION, is sweet isn’t.

USRA B-Mods: 60 B-mods raced the Creek this week, with drivers from 6 different states making the haul. After 6 heats and 3 B-features, the A-main was set for battle. After a couple cautions, we had a run for the checkers which brought the pack together. Parker Hale started on the pole and was battling with Grinstead, Richards, Schubbe and Mann, as Dan Hovden, Jett Sorensen and the familiar 24C of Jim Chisholm came through the field. When the final green flew, on lap 16 it was an amazing finish as Jim Chisholm made his pass for the lead on the white flag lap coming out of turn two under Dan Hovden who had a great lead the second half of the race. Jim Chisholm maintains his win streak at 7 straight at Deer Creek.
