Davis Wins Second Gopher 50 Prelim

The second of two shows in one day took place on Friday night at the NAPA Gopher 50 at Deer Creek Speedway. There were 30-NAPA Auto Care Centers USRA Modifieds on had for the nightcap. Four heat races and two B-mains would determine the 26-car starting field.

Parker Hale and Ryan Wetzstein led the field to the green flag for the 25-lap $1000 to win race. Hale led but then had mechanical issues and dropped off. Wetzstein then lead with Brandon Davis and Keith Foss close behind.

After a restart on lap seven Davis took the lead. Rodny Sanders came from seventh and got to second. A couple of yellows would slow the race, but Davis sent on to the win. Sanders finished second and Foss was third. Jake O’Neil scored another top five in fourth and Lucas Schott charged from 13th to fifth.
