MIKE WILSON GETS LONG AWAITED WIN IN CRATE MODELS

Aleesa Young led the first two laps of the 15-lap Crate Model feature before Mike Wilson worked his way from fourth into the lead. Sparky White was the man on the move as he advanced to third by lap four while Zac Weller held on to fourth.

Matt Hill was on a mission from tenth taking third from Young at the halfway sign. The second and final yellow was out with four to go tightening the field up on the back bumper of Wilson. Wilson was up for the challenge as he made no mistakes and drove to his first win in several seasons. White held off Hill for second. Eric Vent finished in the fourth spot and Derek Magee, in his final race before headed off to college, came from the rear after an early spin to round out the top five.

I serious incident occurred in the first Crate Model heat. Kellie Lewis tangled with Eric Vent at the drop of the green. Her car got sideways then dug in and began to barrel roll clearing the outside wall and ending up in the catch fence before dropping back down to the track. A wheel and tire plus other pieces entered the stands injuring at least two spectators. One was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and another was treated at the scene. Lewis was also taken to the hospital complaining of pain in her arm. She was treated and released and did not suffer any breaks. Heats were won by Tyler Reed and Robbie Walls, Jr.
