MARK BYRAM WIRE TO WIRE FOR FIRST OF SEASON IN SUPER LATES

The Super Late Model drivers were trying to get dial-in on the new surface for Thursday night’s Fulton 50 for the World of Outlaw Late Models.  Mark Byram, who was making only his third start of the season, started on the pole and would be flawless in the 20 lap event.

Herb Tunis kept pace with the lead from the drop of the green but the yellow was out quickly as Amanda Whaley came to a stop in the first turn with a flat left front. On the restart Staci Warrington got by Joe Warren for third and Ricky Elliott charged from tenth into fourth.  Elliott stayed on the move taking third and bringing Andrew Mullins with him into fourth.

Mullins and Elliott got hooked together coming off the second turn but were able to break loose before the yellow. This allowed Byram to pad his lead with only Tunis still in contention. Kerry King, Jr. entered the top five as he worked by Warrington. Byram was comfortably out front with one to go as Elliott began to slow with a flat tire.

Byram would get his first win of the season in the Charles Jarvis No. 45. Tunis turned in his best performance of the season finishing a solid second and Mullins finished a hard fought third. Fourth went to King, Jr which was also his best of the year and Nick Davis rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Mullins and Byram.

Super Late Model Finish: 1. Mark Byram; 2. Herb Tunis; 3. Andrew Mullins; 4. Kerry King Jr; 5. Nick Davis; 6. Donald Lingo Jr; 7. Staci Warrington; 8. Joe Warren; 9. Ricky Elliott; 10. Amanda Whaley; 11. Brandon Dennis; 12. Bob Geiger. DSC00671
