IT'S OFFICIAL - DEVIN DODSON GETS 1ST CAREER WIN IN AC DELCO MODS

Sixteen year old Devin Dodson drove the race of his rookie year in the 25-lap AC Delco PSC Modified feature. Dodson almost didn’t make a single lap as he and Dwayne Crockett made contact going into the third turn. Crockett got over Dodson’s wheel and headed for the wall but made a great save to hold on to the second spot. Gary Langenstein would slow a few laps later bringing out the yellow. On the restart, Greg Humlhanz took up the chase from second with 2015 point champ Scott Hitchens following into third.

Kevin Sockriter would get by Hitchens at the halfway sign. The final 13 laps would be all green. Humlhanz was able to get to the back bumper of Dodson but the rookie driver would hold him off for his first career win pending tech on Monday. Crate engine Fall Championship winners typically undergo a thorough tech inspection. Dodson paid the gamblers fee and earned $1750 for the win plus $360 in lap leader money and $50 from Carolyn Parsons for supporting breast cancer awareness for a total of $2160.
