BILLY THOMPSON LEAD WIRE TO WIRE FOR 2ND CRATE MODEL WIN
In the Crate Model 20-lap eliminator it was all Billy Thompson. The draw put Thompson on the pole and he would turn in a flawless performance. Sparky White chased him in the early going before Mike Wharton took over the second spot just before lap five.
At the start of the second segment, Robbie Walls, Jr. worked by Wharton for second and White would make his way back to third. Charles Shawver got by Wharton on lap 14 and made the final transfer spot into the final five lap segment.
Walls, Jr. would keep Thompson within striking distance but could never mount a challenge. Thompson would post his second win of the year with Walls, Jr.; White and Shawver rounding out the top five.
