FULL THROTTLE SERIES OFFICIALS RECONSIDERS RAIN DATE

Delaware International Speedway officials and Short Track Super Series promoter Brett Deyo spoke this morning on the conflicting rain date from Sunday’s, March 25 rain-out. With this year’s bonus program in the Short Track Super Series, the rain date for our Full Throttle Series lands on the same date as the North Series Region opener, also scheduled on Sunday April 8th at Orange County Speedway. In addition, this weekend, Bridgeport Speedway will hold the Doug Hoffman Memorial race, which its rain date is also schedule for Sunday, April 8th. This would make racers have to pick and choose between the events and anytime situations like this arise, it usually is not a good result for either of the tracks.

After further discussions, the track officials of Delaware International Speedway made the decision to move the Sunday, April 8th rain date to Wednesday night, April 11. Hopefully this gives teams the availability to support both events and give race fans some great racing to watch! Anyone with rain checks from Sunday will have 4 weeks to use them for another event held at Delaware International Speedway.

Due to this change, we will only be able to run two of the support classes which were scheduled to run on Sunday, March 25. The Little Lincolns and Vintage Stock Cars will return on Wednesday night, April 11.  Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers will run on April 18 as scheduled, this way anyone who was already in the facility and paid, your rain checks will be the same Pit gate pricing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but with a mid-week show we must be able to finish the race at a respectable time.

Final note, it was very disappointing to everyone here at the speedway, having to make the call yesterday to cancel the event. With an extremely wet winter and last week's, mid-week nor’easter the grounds and track were borderline going into Sunday’s race. It goes to show, you can do everything possible to plan out a great event, but in a matter of minutes, Mother Nature can destroy what you worked so hard for!  So, race fans, we live to race another day, thanks to all the fans and race teams who made efforts to come out and support our first event of 2018. We appreciate you choosing us as your source of entertainment!

Thank you,

The Management and Staff of the Delaware International Speedway
